The Churches
St. John
the Baptist
We are based
in the middle of the country side , overlooking fields with glorious
blossom. Although the church is of a grade one listing and needs repair
work now and then, it gives an authentic opinion of it's past.
We are a kind, welcoming community, who will always give people a smile
when they walk past. Our church is up the road from an extremely
supportive church of England school at which many of our young church
goers attend.
The church is a calm relaxing happy place to be where you can socialise
before and after the morning services.
We are a registered
charity supporting other needy charities such as cherished memories.
St. Mary
the Virgin
We are
situated in the village of Horton Kirby surrounded by beautiful
countryside. The church is a grade one listed building. Although smaller
than St. John the Baptist, it is equally welcoming and
friendly. There are full-size bells in the bell tower which were
replaced recently. Unlike St. Johns, the bells are rung manually and
rotate full circle, each bell being controlled by one person (the
ringer) by means of a rope. Across the road is Horton Kirby school,
where lots of the young church goers attend. They are really
supportive, rasing money for charities, and the church itself.
We are also a registered charity.
